Xeros Vacuum Bed UV Exposure Unit For Rubber Stamp Making
The Flexible Choice
Following on from the success of the standard
Xeros range, Dalesway has modified a current machine
to offer the Xeros 321R combination UV unit for the
production of liquid based rubber stamps. The unit can
still be used to produce items other than rubber stamps
thus adding to the versatility of the machine.
Along with the machine, we can supply
an optional (additional cost) glass assembly unit that
fits inside the exposure area and it is inside this
item that the liquid stamp is produced. The Xeros 321R
remains a vacuum bed unit for the production of negatives
and plate material, but this facility is not required
when liquid stamps are being processed. With this in
mind, the vacuum mechanism can be switched off when
not required.
When the Xeros 321R is being used to process
materials other than liquid stamps, the glass assembly
system is removed and the vacuum bed can then be utilised
to ensure high quality definition onto materials such
as pad and foil printing plates, ID-MARK imaging system,
sand blasting stencils and PCB's.
For clients that wish to use the liquid
polymer sachet sytem for making stamps, any of Xeros
vacuum bed range can be used. This does allow the smaller
Xeros 315 to be purchased rather than the larger Xeros
321 or 321R. However, in order to retain the flexibility
to offer both traditionally produced liquid stamps and
the more modern sachet based stamps, the Xeros 321R
unit with glass assembly will be required.
Producing liquid polymer stamps is both
quick and highly profitable and many craft stores are
now using this method to make stamps in-house. The benefit
of using clear resins, producing one-off designs and
low cost / high profit are all easy to understand and
are part of the reason for the incredible growth in
this market place.
Dalesway supply all the required consumables
for the production of polymer stamps including:
- Liquid flexo resin in both bottles and sachets
(A7 - A4 size)
- Washout solution
- Concentrated developer and fixer for the production
of negatives
- Film for the production of negatives
- Laser film for the production of positive artwork
- Backing sheets
- Cover film
- Double sided tape
- Self inking stamp bodies
- Stamp mounts
- Ink pads
- Foam backing
Operation of the unit is simple. Set the
time in seconds, close the lid and press the start button.
An integral vacuum pump then begins and first removes
the air from the chamber to ensure perfect contact between
artwork and material to be exposed. After vacuum has
been achieved, the exposure cycle begins.
During exposure, the timer counts down
and once the cycle is complete, the display returns
to the original setting, an exposure complete light
illuminates, and a buzzer sounds for 3 seconds. (Note
that the lid can only be released once a valve releases
the vacuum.) The exposure complete light will remain
on until the lid is lifted, which acts as a safeguard
against the possibility of double exposure cycles.
