High Stretch Additive For Excalibur Plastisol Ink

Modern man-made fabrics and mixtures of fabrics can sometimes require more stretchability than the standard Excalibur range of Plastisol ink can offer. The High Stretch Additive greatly increases stretchability of many Excalibur direct printing inks.

If you need more stretchability, simply add 5% by weight of High Stretch Additive to Excalibur inks.

  • Increases elongation or stretch of ink film to help resist cracking when design is printed on high stretch fabrics.
  • Completely phthalate-free and lead-free formulation complies with all standards of Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) banning phthalates and heavy metals in textile-printing inks.

DO NOT add High-Stretch Additive to Excalibur 700PF Series Inks because the clarity of the metallic base will “cloud” and the reflectivity of the glitter and metallic particles will be greatly reduced.



High Stretch Additive MSDS


Add 5% by weight of High-Stretch Additive.


Gel Temperature: Ink will gel on surface at 116° F

Curing: Ink film will fully cure when the entire ink film reaches 160°C and held at this temperature for at least 15 seconds.

Mesh: For direct printing a 24-60T (60-156) mesh may be used. Coarser meshes will yield thicker ink films providing a higher stretch in the printed design.

Modification: Because over time during storage plastisol inks can body up or appear thicker, always stir ink prior to printing. If after stirring modification is necessary an addition of 501PF Curable Reducer can be added to reduce viscosity and help the ink clean from the screen.

Squeegee: 70 durometer or 90/70/90 triple durometer blades are recommended.

Printing Technique: A print/flash/print technique may be necessary to produce desired results on dark garments.

Caution: Adding too much curable reducer will reduce film strength and cancel any benefit from adding High Stretch Additive.


Mixing & Testing

Always ensure that any additive mixed into Excalibur plastisol is very thoroughly mixed. We also highly recommend that test prints are done to ensure that all parameters are known and the required effect has been achieved prior to doing a production run.

Please note that these additives have been thoroughly tested in Excalibur plastisol ink and we cannot guarantee the same results if they are mixed with a competitive brand of plastisol ink.
